NMB Corrects Proposed Final Rule Regarding Run-Off Elections

NMB CORRECTS PROPOSED FINAL RULE REGARDING RUN-OFF ELECTIONS

Today, the National Mediation Board (NMB) corrected the text of the proposed final rule regarding run-off elections.  The proposed final rule changes existing NMB rules for run-off elections to incorporate statutory language added to the Railway Labor Act (RLA) by the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012.

The correction clarifies that Rule 1206.1 only applies in elections where three (3) or more options receive valid votes.

NMB extended the comment period to the proposed final rule.  Comments must be received on or before August 6, 2012.  If you have any questions regarding the correction or would like assistance in preparation or submission of comments, please contact our office.
