DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR NOTIFICATION OF INTENT TO USE THE AIP PRIMARY, CARGO, AND NON-PRIMARY ENTITLEMENT FUNDS
On March 15, 2017, the FAA announced that airport sponsors are to notify it of their decisions to use entitlement funds available for fiscal year 2017, no later than noon, local time, on May 1, 2017. This notice applies only to airports that have had entitlement funds apportioned to them.
The entitlement funds were issued to accomplish Airport Improvement Program (AIP) eligible projects that were identified through the Airports Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP) process during the preceding year. Notifications by airport sponsors must address all entitlement funds available to date for fiscal year 2017, as well as any entitlement funds not obligated from prior years. Any intent to submit grant applications must also be conveyed in writing to designated Airports District Office no later than June 2, 2017.
Any remainder of entitlement funds will be carried over after June 30, 2017 and will not be available until the beginning of fiscal year 2018.
