
Leonard D. Kirsch is a Partner Emeritus of McBreen & Kopko and a co-founder of its aviation law practice. He has been practicing law since 1980, both in private practice and as in-house counsel for a public aviation company with operations worldwide. Mr. Kirsch represents domestic and international clients on a broad range of business matters, including corporate law (e.g., governance, formation and dissolution), corporate transactions (e.g., mergers, acquisitions and divestitures), commercial transactions, commercial real estate, and commercial litigation and regulatory matters. He is regularly called upon to advise foreign airlines and the ground handling and FBO industries; negotiate with airport authorities, draft aviation-specific agreements, and initiate Part 13 and Part 16 FAA Administrative Complaints.
Mr. Kirsch writes a bi-monthly legal column for Ground Handling International, is a contributor to the Aviation Business Journal, is a frequent presenter at seminars and conferences, both domestically and abroad, and presents webinars on aviation topics for the National Air Transportation Association (“NATA”), as well as participating in NATA’s First Line Supervisory Seminars.
Mr. Kirsch earned his B.A. from Queens College, magna cum laude, his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School, and an L.L.M. in International Legal Studies from New York University School of Law. He is licensed to practice in New York.
In addition to his professional affiliations, Mr. Kirsch has served as an elected member of his local school board and has been active in Rotary as well as other community and business organizations.
